History
1950 - 1960
It all began with Hans and Thusnelda Schmid's dream of opening their own restaurant in Adelsried. However, the construction phase proved to be very difficult and cost-intensive due to the nature of the land.
1961
Nevertheless, on April 1, 1961, the Rasthaus Schmid was opened with 36 rooms and a shared bathroom, a restaurant with a function room and an in-house butcher's shop. The business was run by the whole family and only 3 employees.
1972
The effort paid off. Due to the advantageous location on the A8, the number of business travelers and tour groups increased. In 1972, it was possible to extend the hotel by 35 rooms, a swimming pool with sauna and 2 function rooms.
1980 – 1985
Eight years later, the main building was renovated and one year later, son Werner took over the hotel, running it together with his wife Emmi and the support of his parents. This was followed by the addition of the conservatory, the creation of a new hotel park and the opening of the beer garden in 1985.
1990
In addition to gastronomy, the family continued to focus on conferences and events and in 1990 decided to build a third extension, which is characteristic of today's Parkhotel Schmid, with a spacious lobby, 94 rooms, 8 function rooms, a Caribbean pool and sauna area and a restaurant.
1992
After Werner Schmid's fatal accident, Emmi Schmid took over the management of the hotel and continued her husband's ideas through personal commitment and the courage to make further investments. In the years that followed, the entire building was renovated and the services further expanded.
2008 - 2012
Daughter Simone has been supporting her mother in the management of the establishment since 2008. In 2012, her second daughter Sarah joined the company and took over the management of the restaurant over the years.
2018-2020
The Parkhotel appears in new splendor! Extensive renovation work has been carried out since 2018. In addition to our 67 newly designed rooms in the comfort and superior categories, the oak and chestnut event rooms have been completely renovated and equipped with air conditioning and digital building control. The standard rooms, the wellness area and other function rooms have also been refurbished and digitized. We are particularly pleased about our redesigned lobby and lounge area.
2023
After emotional Corona years, we now dare to continue our renovation plans. From the beginning of April, we will welcome our guests in our newly designed restaurant.
Current
Over the years, the hotel has developed into a renowned conference and event hotel with delicious cuisine. Together with our team, we strive every day anew to meet the requirements of our guests and to adapt to the changing times. We will continue to work on our services in the future and drive forward the development of the hotel in order to not only satisfy our guests, but to inspire them.
